Rhea is the most recently discovered "answer" to the longest. best spey hackle, and Intruder flies. These great feathers are especially being utilized on the magnum-sized tubes, flies and shanks. These medium sized feathers average 14"-16" and the largest feathers have fibers 3" long. Most of the Rhea Intruder feathers can be wrapped. The longer fibers can be pealed from the stem and wrapped or cut off the stem and then spun in a dubbing loop. The movement of each fiber in the water is tremendous.
